Mushkil Aasaan is committed to upholding the rights and dignity of the individual and the family

The Charity evolved as a front-room grassroots organisation in the early nineties when a group of Muslim women shared concerns about the plight of women, children and the elderly experiencing social exclusion, isolation and a range of unmet needs. Some had lost the traditional supportive influences of the extended family as a result of family breakdown, patterns of migration and urban city life.

The diversity and wider spectrum of unmet social care needs became immediately apparent. Very soon it became a reference group of self-referral in and outside the wider communities under-represented in mainstream services, developing a greater sense of community across cultural, faith, linguistic and ethnic boundaries.

Given its framework of reference to the diversity of cultures and languages it is well-placed in the heart of the Community to promote best practice and add value to ‘Care for the Community by the Community’.

Embracing diversity and capitalizing on the strengths of the Communities we serve, our uniqueness lies within the ethos of our Service while addressing inequalities through community representation.

Mushkil Aasaan embraces and outreaches to all diversities of religion and culture and is committed to serve the Community with equal access to all, regardless of gender, race, religion, social class, or disability.
